Playlists etc:

From a very wide repertoire of tunes for the pipes he can advise you on selections from well known favourites to tunes with a special meaning for your occasion and for particular times during your function. He will also endeavour to play special requests if suitable for the pipes. Based on experience, he will play selections of tunes of his own choosing to suit the situation and mood and will also position himself accordingly. He admits to having brought a tear of joy and emotion to many an eye and to have set people dancing the next. The times when he plays are quite flexible and can be as you would like and he is used to adapting to the situation at short notice. Much of Alan's time is taken in getting ready, travelling to and from the venue so once he is there the times he plays and the length of time he is there is fairly flexible dependant on other commitments. Alan will arrange to meet you (if not too far away) or let you know where he will be playing to chat about tunes and play through some selections.

"‘We cannot thank you enough for the wonderful atmosphere that you created at our son’s wedding at Ripley Castle on Saturday. Everyone that I have spoken to since the big day has made mention of your playing. A fantastic job, very much appreciated. You have helped to make this one of the most memorable days of our lives. Thank you again. - ‘Bill and Bridie Snelling ‘Well that’s it all over and we are all just coming down to earth. Yvonne and Tom set off on honeymoon last night, African safari then a beach holiday, so they will be able to relax soon. We are so grateful for your time, effort and professionalism on the day. You made the occasion so special for us and our guests, some of whom travelled from Australia, America, Canada and Spain. - Ron. ‘Thank you very much for last night , it truly was fantastic and meant so much to my dad and family. We are very grateful for your service and the piping itself was fantastic. Sorry I didn’t see you leave I nipped home to get changed however the next time I am in need of a piper I will most certainly be sure to contact you. Thank you’ - Martin Semple ‘Hi , Just wanted to send you a quick email to thank you for your part in our wedding celebrations, you completed our fantastic and perfect day. Thankyou so much.’ – Dawn and Steve Young Just a few lines to thank you very sincerely from both Janet and I, for your splendid contributions to both our ‘Spring Fling' and our Civic Service of Thanksgiving last weekend. Both events were given a very special flourish by your piping and we feel it added immeasurably to the sense of occasion on both days. Many people commented to us on the real ‘stir' the sound of the pipes caused. Your playing was really magnificent and many a spine played host to a tingle or two I am sure – I know ours did! We do hope our paths cross again in the not-too-distant future and in closing we both send our renewed thanks. Yours very sincerely, Robin Owens Lord Mayor - City of Bradford Metropolitan District Council "
